Chris worked as a scientific illustrator and graphic designer for 20 years forming the design company, Mosaic Design Ltd, in 1999.
After producing two children, she decided the time was right to combine her life-long passion for plants with her strong design background and move into a career which would take her out of the office and into the garden.
Completing a year in Landscape Construction in 2012 filled the gaps in her knowledge. By working with hard materials such as concrete, timber and masonry, she gained an understanding of how to design with them better, and advise home owners on the local authority regulations.
Chris has majored in Botany (BSc), Art History (GradDipArts) and Landscaping (Cert. Landscape Construction (Merit)).
International Design Awards as follows:
In 2018 she exhibited at the New Zealand Flower and Garden Show and received GOLD for "A Pollinator's Paradise", a large
10m x10m display garden jointly designed with Katrina Christison. Read more about the garden here.
In 2014, she worked in the planting design team at the Chelsea Flower Show for Hilliers Nursery helping to create two gardens: The “White garden” and the “Bee garden”. She received a copy of the GOLD Chelsea medal in recognition for her contribution to these gardens. See pictures of the garden here.
