Chris worked in illustration, photography and graphic design for many years eventually forming the design company,
Mosaic Design, in 1999.
A life-long passion for plants and desire to create gardens led her to retrain in landscaping in 2012.
She aims to create beautiful and functional outdoor spaces with a contemporary edge. The unique design features which sets her gardens apart might include steelwork, stone mosaics or espaliers. She designs structures in steel including pergolas, planter boxes, laser-cut panels, wirework and climbing frames.
Chris is formally trained in Botany (BSc), Art History (GradDipArts) and Landscaping (Cert. Landscape Construction (Merit)).
In 2018 she exhibited at the New Zealand Flower and Garden Show and received GOLD for "A Pollinator's Paradise", a large
10m x10m display garden jointly designed with Katrina Christison. Read more about the garden here.
In 2014, she worked at the Chelsea Flower Show in the plant staging team for Hilliers Nursery helping to create two gardens: The “White garden” and the “Bee garden”.
She exhibited at the Ellerslie International Flower Show in 2013 receiving GOLD and SUPREME Awards for a garden jointly designed with Rachael Matthews.
